Family

Family, one of the greatest gifts God has given us. When God created the world He created the first family. God, Adam and Eve were the first family.  God walked in the garden with them every day. He loved being with them, taught them all they needed to know and advised them not to do just one thing.
So what did Adam and Eve do?  They did the one thing God told them not to do and  ruined this world God created for them.

The really amazing thing about this story is that God still loved them, still cared for them, still taught them how to live in a now harsh world.  And now, after all these years, God still loves His people around the world.

God provided a way for us to have a restored, renewed, brand new relationship with Him!  He did this by sending His own Son, Jesus, to live in this harsh world along side us.  Jesus never sinned, came from being a prince, living with God, to living in this world filled with sin.
Jesus, the Son of God, lived a life of hardship, pain, suffering, betrayal and loneliness, just to be tortured and hung on a cross, made fun of and dying alone.

Why would the God who created the universe send His only Son
to live in a sin filled world and die such a horrible death? Because
this God loves us!  People who sin daily, people who hate Him,
people who want nothing to do with Him, even those same people
who tortured His Son and hung Him on that cross!

But Jesus didn't stay dead!  He is alive today, sitting next to His
Father in Heaven interceding for those of us who have accepted
His sacrifice by faith, admitted we are sinners in need of a Savior,Jesus, and asked Him to save us!  Oh what a wonderful, merciful Savior is Jesus my Lord!

I am now, and so are you if you have accepted His free gift, an
adopted child of God. Jesus is my brother!

As a part of God's family, I can now talk to Him anywhere I am at any time and know He hears me. I don't have a perfect life, no one ever will on this earth.  I still sin daily, I was born with a sin nature that will be with me until Jesus returns for me or until I die and wake up looking into His beautiful face.

I posted these two pictures here today as a symbol of me.
They are only a part of who I am, but I believe they represent
the most important part, family.  First and foremost I am a
child of God.  Second, I am a part of this human family God
placed me in before I was born.

I am blessed to still have my parents alive today and able to come visit with my sister. They were able to spend a week with my husband, and the children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter God has blessed me with!

Well, this has turned out much longer than I anticipated.  This is my first blog post, I am just learning how to do this, so please forgive me if I ramble a bit.

I hope you enjoyed my first try!
